The Cielo Cardigan
Cielo was named after the yarn it was made with. Finding this yarn was the reason I wanted to make it in the first place. I first worked with it on the Frans Scarf, and immediately felt it deserved a bigger piece — something that could fully hold its softness and lightness.
Cielo means sky or heaven, and I love the sense of ease the name carries. It feels fitting for a cardigan that has quietly found itself into my everyday life.
This is the layer I throw on over a summer dress for sunset walks to the beach, or over shorts and gumboots for slow Sunday mornings at the farmers market. It’s the piece I reach for when I want comfort, like a big cozy hug!
The yarn is fluffy and weightless, so rather than hanging heavily, CIELO sits lightly on the body, almost like wearing a cloud.
Like the Astrid Sweater, CIELO is designed to be easily adaptable. The fit can be made smaller or larger by adjusting the raglan increases and length, allowing the cardigan to become truly your own rather than something dictated by numbers.
